Introducing Jamie, our latest team member!

Starting in early September 2024, he began working in the Account Support Executive role at Revolve Communications. He's also enrolled in the Graduate Apprenticeship Scheme in Business Management at Dundee University. His role involves assisting smaller accounts with all enquiries, ensuring top-quality service is consistently provided to our clients. We've asked him a few questions, read his answers below!

Q: Hi, can you tell me your name, and your new job role at Revolve?

A: My name’s Jamie Cruickshank, and I have recently started my Account Support Executive (GA Apprenticeship) at Revolve Communications.

Where do you come from and what are your educational credentials (degree, diploma etc.)?

I am originally from Dundee; I attended school and have lived here most of my life. However, in the last 3 years I have lived in Aberdeen full-time but travel frequently between the two cities.

After leaving school in Dundee, I attended Aberdeen University (BA Music) for 2 years. After starting 3rd year I decided to leave and explore other career opportunities in a more business & corporate environment.

What was your previous job role before coming to Revolve?

I was a ‘Meetings and Events Sales Coordinator’ for The Cairn Group, located in Aberdeen. I have also worked for Dundee Science Centre in administration and reception role for many years.

I have occasionally freelanced as part of the stage crew for Apex Acoustics Sound Company.

Can you describe a specific project or accomplishment from your previous role that you are particularly proud of?

I really enjoyed some of the events I was able to attend; ATPI Golf Days at Meldrum House, attend various dinners with senior management, and the opportunities to meet regularly with our corporate clients.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your work experience?

The skills to efficiently communicate with my colleagues and clients and enhancing my understanding of how various businesses operate.

My previous jobs have often been fast paced. I feel this has taught me how to prioritize and manage my time workload.

What skills or expertise have you gained in your past roles that you feel will be most beneficial here at Revolve?

The use of Salesforce (Sales Tracker Software), Opera (Hospitality Booking Software), Xero (Accounting Software) and all Microsoft 365 platforms.

I feel that my work and personal experiences have molded me into an approachable and friendly individual, who will always work well as part of a small team and people from all different backgrounds.

Can you share a fun fact about yourself?

I’m a highly passionate musician, old BMW & SAAB car fanatic, and I love dogs.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests?

I have been a keen guitar player most of my life, I’ve play in various bands, produce music and attend lots and lots of gigs!

What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?

Ask lots of questions… take in everything around you and learn from more experienced colleagues.

Best holiday location you’ve been to?

Despite the fact I’ve gone on several holidays around Europe, I always love visiting London!

Your favorite and most memorable smartphone?

The HTC One S, released in 2012!
